MISCELLANEOUS

All the stuff which wouldn't go anywhere else

So what's a guy to do with all the interesting things which don't fit into a convenient pigeon hole on a webpage?

Create a page like this. There's no order, rhyme, or reason for any of this whimsy except that it interests me, and who knows, it may interest you, too.

Face on Mars

The Face On Mars.  Back in 1976 the NASA probe to Mars, Viking Orbiter 1, recorded a fuzzy image (seen at right) from the surface of the red planet which seemed to resemble a human face. Before long there were those who claimed an ancient alien civilization on Mars was trying to communicate to us. For more than 20 years it was a cause célèbre in New Age circles. Click here for a true story which says more about human nature on planet Earth than it says about Mars.

Haiku

One of the literary forms I dabble in as a writer is the ancient Japanese poetic form called Haiku (in English, of course). As the muse strikes me, I'll write one. They're fun and easy to write, too. It's even possible to define a Haiku by writing one. Click here to view them.

Meditation

Meditation  for the absolute beginner. Can you sit still and count to ten?   If so, then here is your guide to get started meditating. For the novice meditator here is the solution to that incessant monkey chatter.

Fiction

More conventionally, I write a bit of fiction, both short stories and longer books. The short stories are available to read on this website, and the books are pure fantasy, or science fiction, but maybe a few other things, too.Click here to learn more.

Clown

This is the Side Show. Click the Clown at left for a random page of silliness. Click the Clown again for a different page of silliness. Yes, Mavis, we are being very silly here.

Spam

And now for something completely different:
a page full of Spam.

Halloween

Halloween is more than pumpkins and black cats. The legends say it began as a commemmoration of the fall of Lemuria 25,000 years ago.

Pi

The ultimate in trivia, the value of pi to some ridiculous level of detail that even a Virgo would gag on.

Please understand that the waiting list for appointments is closed as I segue into retirement.
